Here is my day in a nut shell. 6 attempts at printing the same part. No first layer adhesion with a brim, or not. What gives?

Re: Need help with surface finish on a mold piece
I am using the grey Sovol 1.75mm filament I bought with the printer. I have had real tough time getting it to print all all today. I have made 5-6 attempts at printing the same part I have printed successfully 5 times before. I am getting no surface adhesion on the first layer and more stringiness t...

Re: Need help with surface finish on a mold piece
Thanks I will try a smaller layer height. I am using a high build automotive spray paint to fill the lines but as a result I loose the required definition of all the corners and faces. Update : Tried .100mm Layer Height and it failed to print the first layer at all 3 times. All that happened was the...

Need help with surface finish on a mold piece
Hello Forum, I have a Sovol SV03 printer and .3 nozzle. I am trying to improve the surface finish on the inside of this casting mold I am making. Would appreciate any help and constructive suggestions. The line weight left behind ruins the surface of the part. Specifically I am asking what parameter...

Re: Cura cutting off top portion of a round shaft part?
Yes.Thanks for the suggestion. I am using 0.12 right now with a 0.30 nozzel . I think Cura and my SV03 printer are not real good a fine detail? I am going to try printing 1/2 of the shaft, length wise along the equator and see whether, by starting with a flat surface it will even print? I also redre...

Re: Cura cutting off top portion of a round shaft part?
So I have repeatedly tried to print this small shaft in a horizontal position. I have tried printing it vertically but they are worst. Even with a tower the whole height. I made the shaft diameter larger with the hopes of it working better but I still cannot get any support UNDERNEATH the shaft, at ...

Re: Cura cutting off top portion of a round shaft part?
Hello Forum, My line width was too large for the part. I changed it to a smaller value and the part is now complete. No idea yet whether it will print OK. Starting the print right now. To answer the question, I want the print lines to run vertically, not circumference wise for the model CismontGuy S...

Cura many features explained clearly Link to site
I am new to 3D printing and have been frustrated at not understanding all the very useful settings in Cura. I just found this web page from Cura that SHOWS you what the different setting do to your model! It is great! Wish I could get it in a printed version. Hope it helps some other folks. CismontG...

Cura cutting off top portion of a round shaft part?
Hello Forum, I have a small shaft I want to try printing on its side on a raft over printing vertically. When I load the STL and try to set the parameters in Cura the top portion of the shaft is being left flat? Like it was cut off. I am using a fine layer height and have played with the infill and ...

Re: Print Multiple of same part in one set up One at a time?
Thank you for your help! I will try this. I want to print 3 of the same part. I realize Cura has to keep the gantry clear of hitting a finished part. I was thinking by spacing the parts out on the build area and never having them overlap in the X or Y, there would not be a problem. Cismontguy

Print Multiple of same part in one set up One at a time?
Hello Forum, Is it possible to build a Cura Project were you would have multiple examples of the same part to be printed, but your printer finishes each part before going to the next one? I want to eliminate the wasted time, wisps of filament, room for error, of moving from one part to another when ...

Re: Need Help with Supports
Here is model #4 printed at 30 degrees with supports. It is very good but for some reason one edge is ruined with incomplete bounding/melting of the filament. Any suggestions? 3 Hrs 31 Min print. I removed the half spheres to speed the print and they can easily be printed on the build surface. Model...

Re: Need Help with Supports
Note to Forum, I discovered in SolidWorks you CAN save your STL model with mm's used! Its under the Units tab of the Options. Just change it from Inches to mm's and I imported the STL into Cura and it was correct. No need to scale it 2450%. Hope this helps someone else. Cismonguy SW-SLA profile Body...
