Re: Replacement Control Board
After the initial post, I went home and at my control board to see what it looked like. Well, it definitely wasn't pretty. http://i.imgur.com/lMOZaoWb.jpg?1 After purchasing my 1st Hictop 3DP11 I noticed that the mosfets were getting a little to hot so I added a heat shield (Heatsink). Using the he...

Re: Cura 2.X and above
Running a 2nd instance of OctoPrint, and using port 5001. On a single Raspberry Pi should work. However you are correct the hi res web cam will push the raspberry to it's limits the second web cam will overload the Pi. Would have thought a quad core processor could have executed with a better results.

Cura 2.X and above
Hello all.
Am I correct, if I upgrade to Cura 2.X and above I loose Pronterface. More of the Option to send codes directly to the Printer.
If correct then can I regain this type control by using Octoprint.

Re: Lead Screw Swap out.
Another point of notice. I 3D Printer the new Z-Axis motor and End-stop Mounts because the original mounts would not function with the T8-2 Trapezoidal lead screws Nuts. The Motor mount work correctly with no problems and of course as Murphy has said many times. " If there is a way to mess it u...

Re: First Mod - Z axis REV A
This is an old post, Wanted to add some newer data. Z-Axis stepper motor brackets are so thin that they would not stay in the supports. Was searching thingiverse and came across this little jewel for the smooth rod supports. Ratdoghippy on thingiverse modeled a pair of Z-Axis solid rod supports Here...

Lead Screw Swap out.
Today I finally replaced my Hictop All thread lead screws with some T8-2 Trapezoidal lead screws. "8MM with a 2mm pitch per turn" #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT { 80, 80, 1600, 94.4962144 } The job took less than a hour to complete including updating the firmware for the new lead scre...

Re: The Z Coupler!
Did you never have problems with shifts in z direction? I tried a flexible coupler on my UMO once and then immediately removed it again. No. Though bought a used Hictop an they shipped it assembled sort of. They removed the top Aluminum Frame an laid into a box loosely with the steppers still attac...

Re: Controller Card Information
It has 8 pins and is labeled +5, GND, TXD and RXD on one side it appears to be some kind of a Dual serial port.
Maybe an Extension of the USB Port.
