Re: Cura Feature request: Infill Height
I was playing with this a bit this morning and found something odd. It appears that this feature only works of the infill density is 40% or less? (in Cura 2.4 Beta) At least it does not work with 100% infill, that's for sure, I am printing a part right where the infill is supposed to be 0.3 mm and t...

Re: Z-axix linear bearings
I have this issue on the UM2Go, and I agree, it is unbelievable that one finds such crappy components on a machine in this price range! Changed bearings once on the UM2Go, but it did not completely solve the problem, I think the replacement bearings might also have come from a bad batch. My UM2, UM2...

Re: Cura 2.3.1
this already works: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/34417-cura-2x-plugin-pause-slicing?page=last a nice pause button next to the save button. Wow, thanks a lot, I was not aware of that plugin! It appears to work fine in 2.4 Beta by the way and the CPU load drops to idle levels when slicing is pa...

Re: Cura 2.3.1
The "stuck slicing"-bug is still there in 2.4 Beta. Both gr5 and I have collect log-files of the event, so nallath should have a reasonable chance to sort that out :-) Here is the settings that caused it in my case. cura_slicing_bug.jpg I could restart Cura and still get the same error whe...

Re: Cura Feature request: Infill Height
Ultimaker is basically already doing this to some extent in new Cura, but by changing print speed instead of infill layer height. (Outer wall speed is typically 50% of the infill speed). I would actually prefer them keep the speed constant and double the layer height on infill instead, according to ...

Re: Big phpBB upgrade (3.2)
I had a closer look now, it appears it is only large PNG:s that causes the problem. This rather small PNG works: olsson_block.png This much larger picture does not get the "Place inline" when uploaded as a PNG though, but ut works fine when I upload it as an equally large JPEG: cura_infill...

Re: Cura 2.3.1
First of all, I realize that you are not free to do what you want or what we want, nallath. So read the following as a suggestion from me, not a complaint :-) Regarding the Autoslicing, in my case I simply would like to be able to pause slicing because Cura can become very sluggish and annoying to u...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Actually, I generally use old Cura for the UM2 series, since these speed changes and many other changes were applied to UM2-slicing too in new Cura, which does tend to cause trouble for me a bit too often.
So it is not an UM2/UM3 issue, it is an old/new Cura issue.

Re: Big phpBB upgrade (3.2)
I appear to have issues attaching PNG files (again), do you think the forum upgrade is somehow responsible for these issues?
The PNG upploads but the "place inline" never appears.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Wow, why all that debris on the build plate? Just as Neotko says, Ultimaker did all sorts of tricks to compensate for the more heavy print head on the UM3. Without these tricks the UM3 would have been much slower than the UM2, or would have given worse printing quality at the same speed. One way th...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Nice work Anders! 8-) That box, and all manufacturing, marketing and sales stuff is entirely done by 3DVerkstan, so I can not claim any credits for that :-) Also, the beta testers here should get credits for testing the concept, without people on this forum it would have been very difficult. I did ...

Yeah, I have been suspecting the teflon spacer, even though the TFM is supposed to last very long.
I might take it apart tomorrow and replace it just to make sure everything is ok.

Delta Tower heated bed upgrade
So, finally I found some time to document the heated bed upgrade we did on the Delta Tower printer, just in case someone else has this rather nice machine and thinking of doing something similar. Here is how it looked before. 2015-08-16-6097.jpg A bed that large made from metal, without heating, is ...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Yes, the same under extrusion issue is present on both of them, but not very consistent. It always showed up at the supports for the robot hands, but sometime it was really bad and sometimes almost not visible even though I did not change anything in between the prints. The problem appears only on r...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
I was thinking of a printable alignment tool that clamps around the heat sink and aligns the heater block with the rest of the components when tightening the guide tube. Preferably in a way that one does not put stress on the heat break if the tool is slipping. A heating station would be useful for ...
