Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
I have been printing some rather old XT-CF20 with different ruby nozzles and a hardened E3D-nozzle just to test the differences. 2017-01-19-0381.jpg The UM2Go works well with the heated bed but I ended up with some rather strange feeding issues after short retractions. 2017-01-18-0359.jpg (Left is R...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
Yes but a certain someone will try to copy and patent it. And he isn't from China :) Regarding patents, things that have been published generally can not be patent protected later on. That is why I published pictures of the ruby nozzle, and also mentioned in a scientific article early on. Further, ...

All uploaded https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-3-flexible-fixed-point-modification Clever of you to to use the Non Commercial Share Alike license! That can potentially save you and gudo lots of trouble. :-) One question regarding the design: Is the bent metal piece really strong enough to...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
That picture only shows the external design, which more or less has to look like that to fit inside the fan shroud while being compatible with E3D-nozzles. It does not show the internal design though, which is the essential part that makes it work, and is not as straight forward to design or machine...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
Also anders, you did publish 3d images of your olsson long ago, but until people started to use it and it was more 'know' noone sold a clone. That is not the fact at all actually, Chinese clones popped up after we sold just a few hundred. The reason was that someone (not me, I was strongly against ...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
Hey We show you our thingy and you don't show yours? XD no problem hahaha. Well we can show because we don't have commercial intentions, hopefully the improvements might be done by someone someday so we all can print better. What will happen if I upload a picture is that someone quickly make a roug...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
I probably used ~1 Nm at my design too without issues, I generally use the torque wrench though, just tried to overtighten it a few times by hand. When I stress tested 2.85 mm nozzles (Swedish made) they snapped at ~5Nm by the way, so a well made 1.75 mm nozzle should take a bit more than that, even...

Re: Block v3 or Olsson Block
I think you should try it and write a review! :-) Just beware that you might not get your heater/sensor out again if you for some reason decide to switch block again. I had to fight a bit to keep those slots on the Olsson block by the way, Carl wanted to remove them already then. And as I explained ...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
No, no larger nozzles yet as far as I know. It feels like it might take some time of they are going to test and optimize them with all possible combinations of materials that they sell now days. I am actually not even sure if it is possible to reduce oozing enough to get acceptable quality for dual ...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
I think it is better to lend my printers to people who like to use them when I am traveling, rather than having them just sitting at home collecting dust. So, I lent my UM2 to a friend who builds Warhammer style models, my UM2E is at my brothers place and the UM3 is with a colleague at work :-) My U...

Nope, I am roughly at the opposite side of the planet this time.gr5 wrote:Are you in USA Anders?
I could ask the guy who has my UM3 to test things though, if there is something in particular that you are curious about?

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
Interesting, I have to try with larger nozzles! I just realized by the way that the new auto bed leveling that starts closer to the buildplate might not be a problem. At least not if ut uses the initial manual leveling position as a reference, which I suppose it does? (I am currently not at the same...

Re: New heater block to fit standard nozzles on Ultimaker 3
Any plan to make the tfm liner easy to swap? It could be nice to make a hybrid Core that could allow the user to change it for a cheap part like a tfm coupler? No plans for that right now. As I understood it, the TFM liner should have "infinite life" in the print core thanks to the improv...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
I don't think there are plans for a Makergear M2 ruby nozzle at the moment, however it should be possible to make one if there is a demand. The ruby nozzles currently available have an external M6 thread though (the key size is not dependent on the thread size, in fact 10 mm key is standard for M6 m...
