Re: Summer plans?
You have a point, but I figure it will be easier to negotiate things like corridors if I go full scale from day one, and anyway most mistakes can be corrected with duct tape.

Re: Summer plans?
You could build a Death Star hanger first  , or as we know it a SHED :ugeek: You know, I should have thought of that. Do you think I can magae something with some sheets of plywood, or should I just go full scale right from the start? Might have to speak to the neighbours first, like Franc...

Re: Brexit! Whose next?
It was a very close call. I think everyone will be watching Britain over the next few years, and if we successfully negotiate a clean exit without any serious economic impact, then many other members with strong economies are likely to consider doing likewise.

Re: A new approach to multi-colour prints
I really like the idea of being able to print a steak, although I suppose the texture will be a little tough.

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Gah! I was sure I posted my last message, and clearly it did not get through because I forgot to press submit. Oh well. Basically I'm printing in ABS, use 6.5mm retraction, and I think that's it. http://daniepstein.com/daniepstein/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/20160609_201745.jpg http://daniepstein.com...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Currently I am printing various prototypes with a 1.0mm nozzle, and it's incredible to see how fast that goes. Oh, and they are interlocking and fully functional prototypes just in case you were wondering. With some careful planning printing with a 1.0mm nozzle is really a fantastic way to print lar...

Re: For Sale area?
I think LePaul has nailed this down quite well. I'm always worried about restrictions; they can easily lead to very poor results. Heavy and delicate moderation is the key.Dim3nsioneer wrote:Suggestion: Any entry without a picture or video showing the object in question is declared as spam and banned... ?

Re: For Sale area?
It's a great idea if carefully watched. Mind you, at this stage there is hardly a vast market here for spammers to salivate over.

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
More air? Please explain...that's interesting I have printed several kilos of PETG with the gorgeous ruby nozzle as well as standard 0.4mm nozzles, and with a 0.8mm nozzle. After faffing around a lot with various temps and speeds, I discovered by watching the nozzle when printing that if uneven - e...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Finally had time to mount the ruby nozzle to my UM2Go, because I am using my UMO's with a 0.8 nozzle for bigger prints these days. And there is a noticeable difference! Printing in rPET the material is much more translucent compared to the brass nozzle and I could print cooler..... Because of the m...

You can play the gcode step-by-step as well with the sliders at the bottom. Now *that* is pretty useful as well.

Re: CraftWare slicer
I've been looking at this slicer today, looks nice, the only thing i'm not sure of is how to set the setting up to my UM2, I can see under options the build volume but is the 0,0 position Front Left Corner or Centre? is there any thing else we need to set for a UM2? Front left. I had a load of cust...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
I feel a bit bad having not posted my recent experiences with the ruby nozzle. First of all, I only printed one small test of carbon fibre filament with some unknown stuff, nothing to report there basically. It printed, boring result. Was only a small test cube anyway. Also, I seem to be getting to ...
