Re: Gaps in mid-layer

I tried re-calibrating the e-steps. if anything, it made it worse. every few lines, the extruder would slowly wander off to either the X or Y endstop to peek over the edge of the print surface, then wander back again via a different route. Now it doesn't even seem to be trying to make normal angles...

Re: Can a 3D Printer Duplicate itself

The problem you have here is that you are designing for metal and printing in plastic. You need to design for the weaknesses of plastic, which is quite different. You will of course require considerably more plastic in order to get a stiff enough frame for a halfway decent print. It's an interestin...

Can a 3D Printer Duplicate itself

Printed a 30x30mm Frame 3D Printer. For Proof of concept ("Can a 3D Printer Duplicate itself"). 6 X 11-3/4 inch print bed with 10-1/2 inch height. Using all thread for frame support, I have determined that although you can 3D print a Printer. without metal support you may never get a consi...

Re: 3DP-17 Proximity Sensor Not Working Properly

Would like to help did some tests and could only duplicate the same results when using a SN04-P. could not duplicate using a SN04-N I am using a SN04-N, However I tested a SN04-P and get a similar effect. When you move metal closer to the sensor light gets brighter but remains on. I my case I was ab...

Re: Gaps in mid-layer

I had a similar problem not long ago, I have a PTFE lining inside the throat.

The PTFE had became deformed causing the extrusion to vary erratically.

I replaced the throat and Nozzle the faulty prints went away.
You may want to check to see if the nozzle or throat are partially clogged.

HEY GUYs! Just want to say thanks for being here for me. This build has been super fun up until the end and I'm almost printing but then hit a brick wall. Support from China is a nightmare with emails addressing one question per night with absolutely no resolution. I'm not the type of person to bas...

Re: Newbie Things I've learned

I Print PLA at 196-200 with a bed temp of 50-60, and start at a speed of 40-50. Once the base is complete changing the print speed to 70 - 86 for the rest of the print. I have printed some non-complicated shapes at 76 like the display case shown from beginning to end. however the complex shapes will...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

I have successfully compiled shockofmighty version of Hic firmware Marlin-RC8BF-HICi3. Question to see if I understand the firmware. Line 268 and 310 of configuration_store.cpp, if I understand Microsoft's description c_assert is a test for assertions at compile time. So the errors during compiling ...
