Re: FEP contact area versus model thickness to avoid breakage

Hi and welcome to 3D resin printing. There are a few guidelines you need to know. Supports, I always let the software generate supports then I add more is areas I think are needed. If you plan on putting the part flat on the buildplate make sure it doesn't have a cavity that has trapped resin as the...

Re: Old PLA filament not sticking to bed

Hi
As I said in my original post, I used a new roll of the same make and colour and it printed no problem, it stuck really well, in fact I had to use a knife to get it off the bed.

Re: Old PLA filament not sticking to bed

I did try and clean it with IPA but the old filament didn't stick, really odd!
Usually I have the problem of getting the part off the bed, and never any problem with it sticking.

Re: Smooth curve not facets - Anycubic photon workshop slicer

Solidworks can export just about any format you can think of. For 3D printing you have amf 3mf & stl, I've tried all 3 with the slicer software, they all seem to give the same results as far as facets go.

Re: Smooth curve not facets - Anycubic photon workshop slicer

You're welcome.
I've never used step format for slicer software.
Good luck with the printing.

Re: Old PLA filament not sticking to bed

Hi Filament was good, I tested it by trying to break it, but it bent, so not brittle. I keep all my filaments well wrapped up and if they are brittle I bin them. I use a vinyl cover for the bed, it normally works very well as I normally have the problem of getting the parts off the bed, I have to us...

Re: Smooth curve not facets - Anycubic photon workshop slicer

Hi Well I have imported your stl file into Cura. I also imported the step file into Solidworks then exported an stl file. I then exported an stl file from FreeCad. When I imported all of these files into Cura they looked good with very very small facets. One thing I did notice when I imported the st...

Old PLA filament not sticking to bed

Hi everybody. This is a new one. I was doing a simple print, a disc 1g of filament. I thought it was a good way to use up some old filament as the colour didn't matter. The first print was a blob of plastic stuck to the nozzle. After 3 more failed attempts to print, re-leveling the bed, cleaning wit...

Re: Smooth curve not facets - Anycubic photon workshop slicer

Could you post the step file so I can look at it. I use Solidworks and export files in stl format for printing, I can set the resolution from basically rough to smooth, smooth files are a lot larger. I also have freecad, I just use it to transfer stl files into step format. stl files can't handle cu...

Re: Slicer software punch vs ready made hole in CAD file

Hi I too have a Photon I use Prusa slicer for supports etc, then Chitubox to do the slicing. The software that comes with the printer is a bit basic. They aren't hard to learn. It depends on the model, for me it's a bit of a guess. Could you share the model so I can see what you are tying to print. ...
