Re: nGen Review

The PET that I use is from Refil http://www.re-filament.com
Temp: 228 degrees, bed 60
Like XT, nylon etc, it is 'sticky', it sticks to the nozzle real easy, leaving burned blobs if you don't remove them.

Re: Show off My latest Print

Tomorrow is the official opening of FabCity / Europe by People http://europebypeople.nl/fabcity-2/ where I will be working for the next 11 weeks. Already printing a lot for this: the Mayor of Amsterdam and the Minister of Education, Culture and Science are receiving a chain of office, printed in rec...

Re: Upgrade kit available

it does surprise me that on the UM forum there are quite a few problem with installing... With 'tinker-fingers' it should be a piece of cake, but if you're not used to take your machine apart there is always a chance that things don't work like they should..

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

yes, my other neighbor (sister) has. It is used for the fridge, lamps and charging phones, ebooks and such. My fridge is on propane gas and I can charge my stuff next door. Still like the simplicity of being there, no computer work, just a bit of email and weather consultation...;-))

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I hope not... I september they are going to a winter location because the sea and wind can destroy everything. Last year we got a storm of 11 Bft. in July and some houses were damaged. This photo is from last year March, one week before my house was placed (the yellow house is my neighbor) 2015-03-3...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

as a jeweler, there are some stones that can be heated, like diamant, cubic zirconium, garnet. For other stones it depends on the inclusions/irregularities, the heat could influence the color. I guess you are using the artificial rubies... But most important: don't throw it in cold water when hot!

very tempted to buy S3D, because of the layer preview: to see what path the printhead makes for each layer.

Re: Why does PLA crack when left sitting in the bowden?

I have a whole batch of Colorfabb filaments from 2012 before they changed their recipe (shiny, now their filaments look matt on the roll). Cannot leave them overnight in the printer or they will crack. Some colors worse then others.

Re: Cura wish list

it is quit messy, not following the universal rules of key behavior.......

using 'tab' switches between
rotating: just left/right or up/down, no other key necessary.
scrolling layer height: only up/down, no other key necessary.

confusing....

Re: Cura wish list

I found a way to scroll through the layer view!

(Mac) click in the layer number slider box and use the up or down arrow...
