Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.

I still use v15.04.06 for 99% of the prints. The new Cura 2.* just reminds me too much the "new" UM forum - poshy, shiny and useless. Probably made by the same UI bugmakers. Sorry, @nallath, just couldn't hold myself. nallath I'm not a big fan of the UI that we have now. But both of them ...

Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.

It's mostly the recommended mode that changed. It's nothing that will have a big impact on expert users. All the extra plugins have little to nothing to do with the re-licence. The solidworks plugin for instance is AGPL. The whole re-licence is just to take the fear of third party developers away. I...

We already did ;) FieldOfView (Aldo Hoeben) contributed this a while back.
Lovely! Where/how it can be found?
A setting called "Initial Layer Horizontal Expansion" If you set it to a negative value, it should prevent the "elephants foot" issue.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

Use the neosanding / ironing feature. Ah, you did find the time to implement this rather complex feature (tried it, nice), but would you also be so kind to add "shrink 1st layer" option, in order to eliminate sharp edges of the 1st layer? These bulges that normally ruin the dimension accu...

Use the neosanding / ironing feature. It's very well suited for this.

Re: MatterControl, Open Source software

It seems to be a dead project. There haven't been updates in the past 5 months, which usually is a bad sign.

Off to holidays! Going to a number of LARP events, so if you don't hear a lot from me the next two weeks, it's because i'm dressing up in a field and hitting people with latex objects.

I wish we did too. But I'm already juggling (too) many things at the moment.

Agreed, which is why it has been in Cura for a few releases now ;) It's called support interface.

Re: Cura and Octoprint observations...

You need to contact fieldofview for this, he's the one who made the plugin. It's a 100% a comunity contribution. He usually responds rather quickly. See https://github.com/fieldOfView/OctoPrintPlugin/

Re: Cura 2.6.1 is out

Yeah, our build server did a boo-boo. It's really hard to keep the OSX building stuff in working condition.

As it only fixes stuff for people that couldn't run 2.6.1, it's also a "silent" release.

Re: OctoPrint and Cura

I have little to no experience with octoprint. The entire functionality to have it in Cura was also contributed by FieldOfView. So if you have any questions or bugs, he's the guy to contact.

Re: Cura 2.6.1 is out

- Per tool PID - Per tool Z offset Why would UM2 need this? Only one tool. - Travel/Print separated acceleration/jerk No need to have it in marlin. Cura already handles it. - Removing insidious retraction gcode to allow retractions+move for ultigcode users. (Yeah they could use reprap, but we are t...

Re: Cura 2.6.1 is out

I just asked the firmware team why we never made the switch to the "new" marlin. As I already thought, the reason is pretty simple; It has been quite unstable (They have been working on it for 2(!) years and it's still not quite there yet). They added a whole slew of new features that are ...
