I've been camping mostly. Grants Pass, Oregon (2 days), Southern Oregon coast (1 day), Oregon Country Fair (4 days). Spending this weekend in my shop working on a garden bench for my former manager (he retired last week), then off camping again next weekend.
Busy schedule.

The project is on github, and appears to be written in C# (works in Linux using Mono).

Re: Cura 2.6.1 is out
This is actually fairly common to see semi-frequent point releases, although I am surprised you don't have some automation system for building/testing. It should be fairly straight-forward using a system with a bunch of VMs running different OSs. Control the whole pool with a lot of Jenkins jobs. (i...

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?
I discovered that when my original board for my 3DP-17 went out. The replacements I got (one from Amazon, one under warranty) both have the slot below the USB connector and under the board. A 'simple' solution to your problem is to place the printers on lazy susans.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Part of the problem with Facebook groups is there really is no good way to reference threads (at least on mobile apps).

Re: Another neat OctoPi video find
Which GoPro model are you referring to? I have the Hero 2, and a few friends have the Hero 3. I've never had an issue with picture quality (did have a fish-eye effect until I changed the case for the revised version). I've taken lots of video above and below the water (scuba diving in the Caribbean ...

Re: Another neat OctoPi video find
You can send it gcode directly. The reason cura engine is there, is so that you can send it stl files to slice.

Love it! And I especially loved where he showed my Win32DiskImager program. I love seeing my program put to good use.

Re: How to save various filament settings?
I have all of my filaments entered into Cura. A few of them have my own print calibration settings as well (I have been lazy and haven't run a calibration on each spool). In Cura 2.6, open the Preferences interface and select the Materials tab. From there, you can either create new or duplicate exis...

He was referring to if you are building your own firmware from the latest Marlin release. The hex file from Hictop will have the correct values, assuming you have the stock configuration.

Re: Hictop 3DP-08: Firmware not working properly
Try this link: https://www.hic3dprinter.com/pages/firmware. It shows the firmware for the 3DP08-3DP11. Not sure if it works with the Z screws your kit came with though (at one point, they switched everything to leadscrews apparently).

Re: Cura 2.6 Beta!
I think part of the loading speed issue could be resolved if there were an option to disable debug printing (or selectively enable it via commandline). I'm seeing a lot of output on the console, at least on the Linux versions (and I just tried 2.6.0 release). Windows users can test this by hitting W...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
The texture looks almost like yarn or bundling twine. Very interesting. I'd like to see the finished product after you do any post-printing processes to it (stain, finish, etc).
