Re: Nozzle cleaning

No! What kind on print head do you have? I preheat the nozzle every time when it is up to temp I then start a print, Though this is just the way I do it. You should be able to send a print without preheating and it should work. Else you can set these in the slicers startup G-Code M109 - Wait for Hot...

Re: Beginner needs software suggestion - good intro training

I learned the basics of Fusion 360 in less than a day and then started building my Hictop controller case. As I got stuck I simply went to YouTube and learned how to do the next step until I had the case modeled. I know that this is not normally the way this should be done but for a sweet program li...

Re: Beginner needs software suggestion - good intro training

ThinkerCad is a simple online program that has a few simple shortcuts. Here is a simple set of Keyboard shortcuts that could make using ThinkerCad easier. You can use a ruler to make it easier to set distance as seen on the Web link below. https://blog.tinkercad.com/keyboard-shortcuts/ Making precis...

Re: Beginner needs software suggestion - good intro training

There are many too choose from here are my two favorites. The first is a simple online Cad software that works like building blocks, add blocks and merge into a solid single object. The second is more complex though it has a multitude of YouTube Videos on how to learn to use. I started with TinkerCa...

Re: PLA sticking TOO much to bed.

I have on many occasions found it sticks so tight that it hard to remove, or it is not quite there and breaks loose. I have finally purchased a bed surface that will actually hold the print from beginning to end. Before finding this surface I would print on tape on my First bed surface, as prints wo...

Re: Need help with Extruder heating then cooling.

I do not have a CR-10S though, I am a avid electronics troubleshooter. When it works I would measure the resistance of the circuit and again when it stops working. It sounds like the you have a intermittent connection. This normally is caused by wiring, cold solder joint, bad heater, loose heater co...

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

Hello again;; I discovered today that the longer Stepper motor cables I purchased from California. Are in fact being shipped from mainland china, so it will be quite some time before I see the parts if ever. How is it that E-Bay continues allow this to happen, as many times as we have all complained...

Re: Glob of filament around nozzle

Could also be that the Z-Axis skipped a step or two and broke the model loose it melted around the nozzle.

I print smaller models with a skirt/brim to keep them attached to the bed.

Re: Glob of filament around nozzle

To prevent this from happening would require getting a good first layer adhesion. As gruemaster mentioned we have all experienced this beginner and advanced 3D Printer users alike. In your case you are probably lucky that the filament broke or you may have had a much larger glob of filament. It coul...

Re: what printer should i get

There are many 3D Printers in this price range. Will show my 3D Printers first, this will show expensive 3D Printers and not really required for good prints. Here are my twins they Are Hictop a 3DP11 and a 3DP12 before 3DP11.jpg after. The Twins 2018-3.JPG The Hictop 3D Printers range from $260 - $7...

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

I am still looking for a Control case, the one I found is horrible, it is so thin you can virtually see thew it. And I do not want to waste my time with such a horribly Thin Control case. Do not in fact believe it would survive very long and provide no controller protection. I have found some Anwenk...

Model Fan Duct

Was printing an my Parts Fan Duct caught the spikes on a model that was being printed to close to the bed. An was bubbling causing spikes that caught breaking the model parts duct. It should have have a shorter throat cooling vent that deformed the duct causing it to float too close to the bed. Part...

3DP12 pushed to its limits

Today I pushed my Hictop 3DP12 - 3D Printer to the Ultimate test level. Printing at layer height of 0.31 with a print speed of 12.4mm^3 per second. Inside has stringing and under extrusion lines. Most likely because of Z-Hop, incorrect Hot-end temp and flow %. IMG_2321.JPG The back wall has Artifact...

Re: Trying to add 2nd extruder to HICTOP 3DP-08

Marlin 1.1.9bf has S_CURVE_ACCELERATION enabled it has been fine tuned for fastest possible Hictop printing. Marlin 2.0 is a little faster having JUNCTION_DEVIATION enabled this too helps increase the print quality. I have not tried them though TL-Smoothers reduce Salmon Skinning when used with Alle...
