Re: CAD design

Hi I'm a design engineer so this is the type of thing I do for my job. For CAD design there are various free and paid for systems, like Fusion 360. FreeCad, Solidworks, Onshape etc. If you don't have en engineering background this is going to be hard for you to design, I'm not saying you can't do it...

Re: Vexing Problem: Warped Print

I've had this happen, mind you it could have been due to a slightly blocked nozzle.

Re: Vexing Problem: Warped Print

It looks like it's lifting off the build plate, try putting a skirt around the part to hold it to the build plate better.

Re: New to Resin 3D Print: Some Questions

My first thought about the line across the part is that the LCD screen has a fault. I don't know your printer but is there a way to test it without the tray in position?
Mine makes a popping sound as it lifts up, it's normal.

Re: How can I choose the best 3D Printers for Miniatures?

I see the Anycubic Phonon is top of the list. I've had one for 2 years now and I've done 100's of prints, very happy with it.

I have been reading about what 3D printers they can do with metals, it amazing.
Don't ask the price, you can't afford one.

Re: First print!

Hi
I don't know if it will help but here is the settings for various resins for the Photon printer.
It will give you an idea for how the first layers go.

Re: Resin buying question - Bulk buying?

Hi I have an Anycubic Photon, not the "S". I already had a filament printer for a couple of years. The resin printer is very different, there was not much that I had learned that I could use on the resin printer. The Photon has a large following on Face book so help is always at hand. Ther...

Re: Bad stringing

Yes the overhang is not an important feature, I know it would be a bit rough, it actuality wasn't too bad after I cleaned the print up. I am just surprised the round support managed to survive as it printed really badly. This was quite a big print 300mm x 200mm x 128mm high. Almost a whole roll of f...

Re: Bad stringing

The SunLU filament is always well packaged, shrunk-wrapped even, so no moisture can get in.
The stringing I can live with, it's the bad layers I'm more concerned about.
Look at this support, the bottom half has ended up as a spiral, but only on one side.
Any ideas?

Re: Bad stringing

But do I need to dry filament that is opened for the first time, shouldn't it be dry already?

Re: Bad stringing

Hi Paul
I wouldn't say I was very good, I'm more an intermediate learner ;-)
It was a newly opened roll, so it should be dry.
The funny thing is it only occurs on one side of a symmetrical part.

Re: Bad stringing

Hi Roberts_Clif. Thanks for the reply. Material Sunlu PLA. Yes I can see there is an area where there are no supports. This is just a functional print and that area is not important, I knew is would be a bit rough. It's the other areas where the stringing is bad, there should be not reason for it in...

Bad stringing

Hi all I get bad stinging on my models from time to time. The last print was very bad. I am using Cura 4.11 but I don't think it's a version issue. I have retraction on and set to 8.0 distance and 45.0 speed. 2021-11-01 15.56.39.jpg Also supports don't get printed properly 2021-11-01 16.07.43.jpg An...

Making threads on a Resin printer

Hi all I've been printing various parts that had threads in them, some odd sizes. The last on was Ø20.5 x 1.0 pitch for a connector. They can be a bit tricky. I'd like to share my experience with you, I hope it helps. First off for threads it's best to print them vertically, I know Resin printers do...
