Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

Price is not an issue per say, just thinking it would make more sense if you could ship in your area and we could source within Europe.
But on the other hand if nobody in the USA wants them...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

Any timeframe for the commercial availability?

(No commitment, just to have an idea -- would like to replace my broken one as well, and it's a bit stupid to bug LePaul to send one back fro US, which is either slow or unnecessary expensive ;) )

But the production is out, why do you want the beta?

You can see it in action in one of the videos ;)
It is a simple mechanical lever (I don't says this negatively, this is well done and not over-engineered)

Re: Teaser for the New Ultimaker....here we go!

What are they doing to prevent oozing?
- Retraction?
- Head cooling?
- Something else?

They don't have cleaning/priming tower or area, so flow must be very well under control to achieve this result.

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

What's that dangerous temp range? I ask because I recall CF temp was up high This is very subjective, but I would say as from 245°C. At 245°C it all works fine, but the coupler won't last very long. As from 250°C the PEEK might suffer as well. So to summarize, on UMO: Under 240°C: no issues 240°C -...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

The only downside for me was the increase in temperature. It does not matter for PLA, but for others on the UMO you might enter in the 'dangerous zone' for the PEEK/Coupler.

Re: UM2 print head project

Nice! Not sure though that suppressing the brass pipe is a good idea as it it an heat break. Also you would have to screw the nozzle against the PBI each time you change the nozzle... And it is probably easier to tap a thread inside the PBI than machine one outside ;) (I am NOT a specialist in therm...

Re: UM2 print head project

Thinking about that quiet a lot... most new materials are in a printing range just above what the UMO print head can do. Replacing the peek only is probably not good enough, the coupler won't survive long -- I can print ABS fine at 245°C with the PEEK, but coupler is the week part. I was more thinki...
