Just got my first ngen spool and had to try (pretty busy at work atm) ! It's for a functional part that goes outside, that's why ngen. I tried with 235, 75, FAN OFF (thanks amedee), 50mm/s, 0.2 layer height. Turned out pretty well, layer adhesion is ok.

Let's hope the 85 degrees c are enough to withstand the summer sun... :)

no stringing at all, but it was a sort of solid round piece with a bracket so there was not much stringing expected anyway. Coasting was on FYI.

I'll try that tonight...I'm printing a round hub piece with spokes that have a hole in the middle. Maybe I'll get a good result !

For most of Swiss Summer 2016 PLA is enough... ;-)

I have today off so I am experimenting with nGen and Cura 2.1.2

First thing I noticed is the fans turned on despite being checked off in Cura.

Trying one of Neotko's shroud pieces as a test, since it has mounting holes

I'm impressed!

But how can I make those holes a bit cleaner?

I think I found it...Cura 2.1.2 didn't have the right retraction settings (25mm/sec and 3.5mm)

Using the settings from ColorFabb for retraction

Interesting on the first layer. Maybe retraction is too high. It seems to flip the edges up on portions of the layer. A few more layers now flattened it out

I'm not sure what coasting does but my nGen print was alright , not super. A few gaps. But this stuff bridges well, minimal 'hairs' around the circle. And compared to the PLA prints, the back is a lot nicer

PLA on right

It took a lot longer than the PLA version (4.5 hours while nGen took 5.7)

I've done a number of these parts now...and it seems only nGen can eliminate the "hairy" effects that PLA shows on the bottom of this piece.

I originally did 8 with 25% infill with PLA but I decided to make some with 50% infill since the aluminum frame attachment spots could stand to be beefed up. I need to check, I know the temperature tolerance is higher with nGen, but not sure the strength is any better?
