I wonder which of those materials would be the best for my BB-8 build. CPE+ and PC seem to have the strong and heat resistance I would like.

I thought for polycarbonate we needed to push upto 300'C?

There has been some development in that area, and there now is "low"-temperature polycarbonate that can be printed around 260C and warps less, Polymaker has had some PC like this since late last year: https://3dprint.com/95697/polymaker-covestro-filament/

Yes, but forget PC on an UMO+. Those new materials are designed for the UM2+. Even an UM2 without the TFM would have a problem.

Ultimaker Nylon is much less humudity sensitive than other Nylons.

It is also stiffer than most of the Taulman nylons from what i have heard... (i have not tried it myself tough), also the TPU is supposedly quite easy to print and insanely tough.

That sounds interesting... Maybe they finally decided to actually offer good materials on their name

The TPU is just great. Prints nice and has an excellent finish.

Correct, all of these new materials requires the machine to operate in the higher temperature range (245-260) wich the UMO+ hotend does not support.
If you replace your printhead with a UM2 one, then you would probably be able to use them.

Probably umo/umo+ also would (for some materials) need side panels and frontal door (or a plastic box covering all except the top and bottom so the cpuboard doesn't fry.
I think umo could print all the new stuff, probably slower, with less coupler life time (peek can work at 255) and ofc some side/frontal covers.
Ofc now that um2+ has a more accurate pt100 and they are selling a front door + bed adhesion helpers, they offer materials for their top machines, umo originally was just pla, and with hotbed can do much more but they can't guarantee umo/umo+ print ability on a system with so many mods, open design (the side panels) and a peek that limits the maximum heat.

Side pannels and front door is not a big deal (already did),
a reliable cooling for the CPU board can be tricky (tried a few designs but have not found "the ideal" up to now), but doable,
but to change the whole head means investing money.
Just checked the prices of indeed questionnable china clones... you don´t know what quality you get, but spend also a few bucks for 2 Olsson blocks and head assembly... and I don´t know which parts of the UMO I can reuse - Heater cartridges? Sensors?
And that´s a lot of effort to just be able to print sometimes in more ridgid materials like nylon or TP. Honestly, I don´t know if it is worth...
