Sink object into the bed?

Post by TCBeard »

Hi, so what I am trying to do is take a black and white line art image, either jpg or bmp, and print in 3D. It is a black line on a white background. I am able to get a nice print with the black at the height I want, but I am getting a one layer base across the entire design. For example I'm getting a one layer square with the 1/2" tall circle that I want. I need to eliminate that one layer square. How can I tell Cura not to print that first layer square or how can I sink the project slightly to cut off that layer? I am using Cura 4.8
Thanks in advance for your advice and help!

So, I guess I figured it out. I didn't realize I could enter a negative number in for the Z axis. Entering -0.1 did the trick, lowered the project just enough to eliminate that first layer.
