Anyway now it's moot, because I downloaded the latest deb and got the "RuntimeError: the sip module implements API v11.0 to v11.1 but the Arcus module requires API v11.2" error, which I attempted to fix using the thread here https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/704, which didn't work this time and can't be bothered to work on right now.

I'll try on one of my Linux boxes over the w-e to see if it makes any difference...

In case you missed it, look at this post...

So basically it all works for me with Linux...

... except when it doesn't :roll:

What I mean by that is that for whatever reason Cura 2.1.1 would hang indefinitely on slice, but while I was trying to debug it suddenly started working and now always works. Machine inheritance, scripts, ... all works!

But I am sure there is an issue with the Linux build.

Yup, finally got it working. Th print quality certainly is improved with coasting, but there are numerous issue with Cura 2.1 that if I have time I will write up. At least you can see why it is still in beta :lol:
