Cura 2.1.2 Autoscale is CRAP
Turns out my 8 hour print was auto-scaled to 92% and I missed the pop up
So I wasted a lot of filament to this stupid feature.
I hope the Cura team has a budget to reimburse us for the spools of filament people have lost!

What do we want? "AUTOSCALE OFF"
When do we want it? "NOW"

Why don't you guys submit an issue on Github? Might lead faster to a new default setting than just being angry about the accident...
btw: I agree that default should be autoscale off.

Re: Cura 2.1.2 Autoscale is CRAP
I filed an issue, or discussed it in the forum, long ago but it was not accepted. The answer was something like "it's good for newbies"
I think I managed to convince them that it was too easy to miss the popup so they said they would consider changing the timeout. That's when I gave up...

That's one of the problems I see on the cura development.
Some stuff it's for 'begginers' but also, the criteria of what's and what isn't it's a bit weird. Also I really think they hear all this, so I have no doubt that they might/will change this.

Github is a pain in the rear end. It's a developer's way of saying "I'm too busy to be bothered reading the support forum. Do these 12 annoying steps and if you manage to get through that...I might look at it."Dim3nsioneer wrote:Why don't you guys submit an issue on Github? Pullrequest created. And yep, if you have anithing to say about Cura, they always listen to you there. As it was in the open beta, and I strongly didn't like the ergonomics of the interface. I just drew in autocad my version of UI, send it to Cura's git, and something very close to it appeared in the bild 2.0.99

And the (somewhat strange) pull request already got interesting answers...

Thank you...will add a comment.
My bigger grief with my part being scaled down to 92% is this... at 100%, it WILL fit if you rotate the piece. The default loading shows it will not fit the buildplate. That's when the autoscale launched and shrank it.

Re: Cura 2.1.2 Autoscale is CRAP
The time-out got increased to 30 seconds. We're also working on a fix so that files that are only slightly to big won't be auto-scaled (https://github.com/Ultimaker/Uranium/pull/158)
Soo yeaa we do listen
