Is the latest Beta just the same Beta link? I'm assuming you are replacing the Beta with another as you go? That's what I downloaded over the weekend, hoping that's "the latest" :) I'm used to version numbers rising as we go but not sure how you guys handle Beta versions

Usually the case, but we didn't increase them because of the first one not being built for all platforms. The 2.3.0 you can find on the site is the latest (and might be more recent if you downloaded the first one)

Next release is going to be the "full" release. I think it's planned for ~2 weeks.

Okay

I'm not liking the hidden temps, I don't know if you guys are tucking that away to avoid confusion for novices. But (as I posted on Ultimaker) I think it should be visible so I can verify settings. If a print comes off the bed, I can at least SEE what the setting was and adjust it, for example

I don't like these settings being taken away from us. I want to verify things before I launch a 20 hour print!

Cura doesn't have the information for the UM2 family. We can't show what we don't have.

I don't understand, we had it previously...we could set all the temps. Now they are hidden?

If you set Cura to run RepRap style gcode under Machine Settings, then you can change all temperatures, if you run UltiGcode (default on UM2), then you have never been able to set them in Cura, no matter the version.

The UM2 family (wich runs UltiGcode) handles temperatures and material profiles in firmware rather than in the slicer.

Okay...that makes a bit more sense.

I wonder, what functions will we see in 2.3 that are new, now that the new UM is being reveiled tomorrow ;)

I for one am waiting for the single layer view to return. Desperate for it. I need it for my custom supports.

It's there, just a setting somewhere. I believe somewhere on screen on the left. But it's there somewhere!

It's there. I sneakily added it. Check your preferences. There should be a "show top layer only" setting there.
