Cura 2.7 Baseplate Zooming and other basic questions...

So I am new to 3D printing, just got my Monoprice Select Mini v2 and I have printed so much stuff, I am loving it. But I can't figure out how to best use Cura. I can zoom in and rotate and center but I cant zoom in and see my model when it is sitting on the baseplate. How do I accomplish this?

Also, the only way I can get Cura to slice and say ready to save is by changing a setting, then it says ready to save to file. I can see changing a setting one day and forgetting to save it back. There must by a keyboard command to get it to save to file or slice.

Odd.

How about bringing the baseplate into viewing area when you zoom in?

You are using the mouse wheel to zoom, right?
And one that threw me off for a long time...pressing on the mouse wheel and moving the mouse pans around

yes but soon as you zoom in your model stays on baseplate so you cant see it because the program zooms ot center of cube work area, not the baseplate.

And thank you for the controls link!
