Hia!

I'm pretty new to 3D Printing, and I've recently been having a problem with getting raised ripples on the surface layers, (the first layers come out fine, its just the finishing ones). The sides and bottom layers all come out fine, it just seems to be having problems putting the final layer over the infill.
I have a CR - 10 and I'm using standard PLA.
I'm not sure whether i need to up the infill density because its such a large flat face? Or if it's something to do with the extrusion or something else entirely!

What infill density are you currently using. I'd recommend at least 30-40%. Also, you should add more surface layers. You could also enable ironing mode if you are using one of the latest versions of Cura (not the one that comes with the CR10 - get it here).

I was using 15% as that seemed to be the standard, but i will try upping it and adding more surface layers, thank you

That could be what is called "pillowing", as mentioned...not enough top layers
