Unread posts in the whole forum
Would it be possible to have a link to all unread posts in the forum? In some forum there is such a link in the top navigation where you can easily see all new posts without browsing.
It would be handy when browsing "on the go"

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
Did you checkout the "Unread Posts" link under "Quick Links" in the top menu? That does exactly what you want.

Nope, didn't see that. Never seen it hidden like that before. But it was exactly what I wanted
Thanks!

It's really awesome. Would even be more awesome if it could somehow show the actual posts instead of the topics.

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
Uhm...I hope I will not offend anyone with this suggestion...
What about a button to mark a thread as read in this list of unread posts but without reading it? I mean I really would like to read all your posts but this sphere we live on just has 24h to rotate once... and the mark all read button is a bit rough...

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
I'd have to research that and it probably requires some modding of the forum a bit deeper than I am comfortable with
BUT...I've found answers to weirder things!

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
found the 'unread posts' button already, but returning to the unread list, the topic I just read is still marked as unread. Only reloading the page changes that. Do you have any influence in that or is this something on the user side browser/computer related?

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
I see what you mean, happens to me also. As far as I know back in the browser never reloads the page, but loads the cached version. Not sure that the browser can be forced with nocache to reload the page. Either dont use back on the browser, that will solve it or on the compuer use f5 / other shortcuts for a refresh of the page. Good thing is, the page load so fast. Maybe we could have an option to unpack quick links (i hope you get what I mean)? Would save many clicks

Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
I have this behavior also some times but only when using my 3G card in my laptop. When I use a regular wifi connection, it loads correctly. My suspicion is that the mobile operator has some kind of transparent proxy in place. If I force a reload, I get the correct page.PeggyB wrote:found the 'unread posts' button already, but returning to the unread list, the topic I just read is still marked as unread. Re: Unread posts in the whole forum
yes, I noticed. There are so many ways/systems/combinations, I use Mac/safari, cmd and left arrow keys or use the mouse to press the 'page back arrow' but they don't reload. Have to do an extra cmd and R to reload.
In the UM forum it works though, but slower...
