I started a print of that Deathstar, but in 215% scale two days ago, the first half was a 66h print with 460g XT-CF20, unfortunately we had a power outage after about 43h... :-x

Image

(It is not printed with a ruby, but with a stainless steel nozzle, as a attempt to wear it down... )

The turbine blade printed with a XT-CF20 turned out pretty OK.

Sweet early present from my parents

They asked for something I'd like and I have them a link to Colorfabb PLA PHA filament. I said it had to be 2.85 mm....any color! They did good!

So today we spend 8 hours in the initial stages of filming and producing a Video Blog.
Sue is making a video blog of her journey starting into 3Dprinting, the Wanhao i3 plus arrived a couple of days before Xmas, but we have spent a couple of days preparing for the V Blog, and today videoed more than a few takes of the introduction, the preparation and a single take of the unboxing and then a few takes identifying the parts, plus lunch, dinner and several cups of coffee. 8-)
We have stopped for the night and tomorrow should see the assembly, setup and initial test print, then it's up to Sue to then edit and put together the Video Blog from the various segments before uploading it.
Doing all the filming certainly adds a good few hours to testing this printer up and running, but Sue is enjoying it, what an introduction to 3D printing :-)

If you want me to add a sub-section for the Wanhao i3, I can do so. Your video blogs might prove to be a valuable resource for another user someday!

Look how busy Chip's HICTOP areas got!

What a day

My elder cat has been ill for the past day so I took her to the vet today. She is 10 and was vomiting saliva and seemed to exhibit signs of nausea. I wasn't sure if the young cat had stressed her out or something else.

Well, she managed to get both an ear infection and a urinary tract infection. Apparently older female cats are especially prone (all my previous cats were males). A very. very expensive vet visit! Looks like we all may be eating cat food this month! :(

I don't know about the states, but in the UK all pet food must be safe for human consumption, on the basis that it is put down at floor level and toddlers could eat it, and can have tighter controls than some of the meats that go into meat pies! :geek:
So on the plus side, kiticat beef on toast is really like pate on toast

Well I had a fun weekend I have been working to improve my skills with my Canon t3i for video clips and learning Adobe Premiere Elements 15

While the Ultimaker 2+ was working away, I pieced together this short video (with, of course, the kitten's help....Molly is always nearby!)
