Same here. I remember getting ~3ft of nice powder snow (~1 Meter) as a kid. It would last for at least a month. Great for sledding or learning to ski.

Now, rain. Cold rain. When the temp drops too much, freezing rain. When it does snow, we get a few inches, then freezing rain. Then it warms up, and we get ... warm rain. Yet for some reason in August, we get nothing and our lawns DIE!

We got quite a bit of snow lately and it has been the light/fluffy variety We're dealing with record low temps and high winds. I'm in New Hampshire today (4 hour drive south) and the blowing snow really slowed things down!

As a kid we loved the snow and we got a fair share around 3 foot, thou in 2017 we had 2 foot. did not like the shoveling.
on average now we do not get much snow lately, but like the rain the snow will return.

First snow fall was before Thanksgiving we got 6-8 inches then it warmed up an it all melted then after Christmas snowed again an again it melted.

I can not believe frozen swinging pools in Florida.

Weather is weird here too... Usually winter is relatively cold (slight freezing temps) but this winter has looked more like autumn... Constant rain for weeks on end.

We're getting a warm up now so I am thinking I may need to rake the roof and get as much snow off as I can before the rains saturate it

Yes,

Last year my neighbor lost her aluminum back porch, when it started to warm up then rained the snow absorbed the rain and the combined weight became too much and it seared off on the house side. This is where she would normally sit an play with the dogs. Luckily she was inside when the thunderous collapse scared her out of her seat.

I too heard the noise but did not know what it was until she ask me to help her clean it up. It still had 14 inches of snow and was a bear to clear with causing more damage. Parts of the outside edge were still over 5 foot in the air. after the snow was removed I hit it with a sludge to drop it to the ground. After that she waited until the snow was gone and we removed the old Aluminum Porch. and she had a contractor install the new one.
