Geez....I guess the testing wasn't very thorough?
We didn't test it with Octoprint plugin. So yeah, shame on us, but it's technically third party (although the issue why it crashed was on us).

LePaul wrote: April 24th, 2018, 10:45 am Well I saw a few teaser videos posted on Facebook, then I got all the details from a MatterHackers mailing.

I like the dimensions....but $5995 .... ?? A Raise3D N2 Plus is $3300
I've had the displeasure of working with a Raise3D. After 1 print, it already managed to permanently damage it's covers because the bowden tube was rubbing against it (so now the top cover isn't transparent anymore).

The S5 is expensive, sure. But in case of a cheaper machine, you do see why it's cheaper ;)

The thing with the Raise that has always turned be off is the complexity of leveling the bed.

I still think the best large scale one I've liked the most is the gCreate gmax. It isn't enclosed but it has a lot of nice features you'd expect in that price range.

I'm very interested to see the new Ultimaker printer. I am especially interested in the new print surface. I've tried PEI sheets....prints won't come off! I just bought some polypropelene build plates...and prints won't stay on them! Fun times! I really like the Prusa flexible print surface

I am simply overly busy trying to combine my position at the University with running my own business and spending time on parental leave half way around the planet.

My focus lately, when I am not caught up with all the things I have to do, has been trying to learn how to use the Pocket NC that I bought a few months ago.
It is a super impressive little machine, but 5-axis CNC is a bit more complicated than 3D Printing for sure.

Here is an example of a 0.8 mm needle that I made:

When I tried to make it first time I accidentally put in the wrong tool diameter and the needle came out 0.3 mm thick (!)

I am really stunned how much precision the Pocket NC gives you for that little money and in such a super compact form factor.

Just wanted to say hi whilst having a coffee and a brake from studies, just 2 weeks before my exam and I feel I’ve forgotten all I learned last September to January.
So other than going some material testing and producing so Geocache puzzle caches I’ve really been head down into my studies, and in a little of my spare time trying to sort out my UM2 problem.
Anyway teas getting cold, catch you all a bit later. 🤓

I'm not printing much right now...and I still haven't had time to finish putting together the #nextprinter i'm building for Jr. But I need to start wrapping it up because I want to play with that Duet card and the design by @gudo :)

And to make things worse this week ended sadly...as our youngest cat...a true Bengal...that we got for our oldest son...drowned after a fight with a dog without leash (which is illegal in Sweden)...and grownup people who either just walked away from him laying in the water or didn't try to help him up. He didn't even live to be 2 years old

The university where I study is going to 3D print some houses: click. It's from a Dutch news site, I put it through google translate for you. Unfortunately the video is still in Dutch  .
