I can relate to that :P

Don't worry...this one won't go downhill...at least not down any steep hill...they will mainly be pushing each other around :)
jonnybischof wrote:About the steering bar: I would weld or epoxy-glue the top M10 nut to the threaded rod. The lower nut will secure the assembly, but you can't tighten it enough to be really secure because the plastic parts would just crush.
You might also want to epoxy-glue the steering bar to the "Center part feature 1" piece in order to prevent wiggle. I might have gotten the tolerance a bit too loose. Making a good press-fit is difficult without having the parts in hand.
Ok, I will try it out and see how it turns out and let you know the result :)

First parts printed...using Colorfabb XT...layer height 0.2...first time I'm trying this filament.

The parts looks good and the hole for the rod is not too big, I think the play is ok.

Since the wheel is quite curvy on top it could benefit from lower layer heights...or ideally that you could print the top layers with different height. But for this application it will be good enough after some light sanding :)

I will try to summarize all I'm doing when printing/assembling once it's finished.

Spending the day reading a good book that my oldest son gave me :-) sitting in the personnel lounge at kindergarten while my youngest son is getting used to the new place.

I used to love reading the Empire Strikes Back book, sometimes the book versions add some details you miss in the movies

Yes, that's true. This was an "easy to read" version, but yet it contained two scenes that were not in the movie :)

And it felt just as emotional to read the story as it was to see it in the cinema the first time.

tbh I'm super busy biting my nails until Mass Effect Andromeda comes out. And when it does, I will disappear into the unknown depths of my apartment with no lights on for some time :P

On that note: Does anyone still have the 3D files for the printable M8 Avenger? It was on myminifactory for some time but seems to have disappeared :(

That steering wheel is looking good! I like the color choice.

Thanks Xeno, seems I am so hyped I forgot how to use Google :P
Now let's see if I can remodel that second file...
