(I don't know if you noticed, but the mail alerts they are sending is done by a 3rd party: mandrill.com . These guys are doing analytics on every click you do and I really do not like that...)

Well, it helps really serious if you have a e-store like amazon or something like that. It can dramatically increase a conversion and total checkout (right word?). But in case of UM it doesn't make sense. Especially on community forum.

And yep, good analitycs analyse not only your click, but pointer moves too. "Big Brother" in service of Sales Department. :-D :-D

I thought their portal was some sort of Amazon content management system? Cloud front?

I dont think so. Commonly, their upload/download algorithm don't run over Amazon Cloud. Such cases are immediately evident on specic syntax in the address bar. For example, if you download something from CGTrader, it can be seen immediately. In any case they use some kind of CMS, but can't figure what it is.

AFAIK it is custom development hosted by Amazon CloudFront...
