Metal 3D Printing with a CNC controlled MIG Welder

Post by Meduza »

I just have to show this picture of a experiment a friend of mine did a few weeks ago (yes i have sent him a invitation to this forum), with a MIG welder attached to a 3 axis CNC plasma table :-)

The leaning of the left/back wall is not a mistake but a test of slight overhang performance.

Now that's pretty impressive! (Support material will be a challenge!) :)

Nice! Approximately what size is it?
Did you try to cut through the material to see how solid it gets?

@Anders Olsson: It is about 7,5cm outside diameter, and the "extrusion width" is about 6mm.
