Heating Rod Not Heating(Ender 5)

Post by DJeka »

Hello!

I'm very new to 3d printing. I've only had my Ender 5 for a few weeks. Apparently I screwed the thermistor in too tight, it ended up snapping, and then the heating rod cables ended up melting.

I ordered new thermistors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0150 ... UTF8&psc=1

and new Heating rods: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0150 ... UTF8&psc=1

I have twisted the new Heating rod into the base of the old heating rod plug.

The problem is I cannot get any heat onto the heating rod.

Would anyone have any idea or suggestions on why I cant get any heat? Thank you so much for your help, in advance.

What does the LCD display about the heaters.

If you see an extremely high temperature reading at room temp ("358°C") then thermister is shorted.
If you see an extremely low temperature reading at room temp ("-14°C") then thermister is open.
If you see a reading at room temp ("22°C") then thermister could be working correctly.

If the thermister is not working then you will not be able to heat the hot-end.
