Printing Dishwasher Belt Pegs

Post by Olivero »

Hello Everyone,

I am new here and new to 3D printing. I am looking to get into it as a commercial kind of application, and the first idea I had was to print belt pegs for our commercial dishwasher.

https://www.partstown.com/stero-dishwasher/soc59-5631

That is the original, I've done a model for it and printed one with a co-workers printer, they used ABS with about 10-15% infill, it's a Monoprice Ultimate Printer, I am planning on getting an Ultimate 2 for this project.

The Ultimate 2 can reach nozzle temps of 250*C and bed temp of 100*C.

I'm thinking of using PETG as it has a higher melting, glass transition and heat deflection temp than most other materials and it is also food safe which is good for what I need. The absolute highest temp the machine can hit is 200*F water temp, so it's rarely going to make the surface temp reach that, it will probably hit a max of 170-180*F.

What do you guys think?

I like your Idea of the printing of the Dishwasher Belt Pegs.

I Printed a part for a Gutter Hanger. The difference is the part needed for my gutters is obsolete .

The one shown in the previous Post image was printed with ABS.
Though I have printed them in PLA and ABS, then can see for myself which lasts longer and is stronger.
I designed it in ThinkerCad before learning to use Fusion 360 Free for Hobbiest.
It works the way it is designed but still needs a few tweaks to be perfect needs to be 1/8" shorter.

I have a few parts for my popup camper that I printed in PLA (haven't really tried any other materials yet). My tent peg is still functional after 2 seasons. The other thing was a ring adapter to mount my land line conversion kit (it was missing the ring - clearance table). I painted it to help seal it. Have yet to install it though, but I did check the hole patterns and everything lines up perfectly.

@gruemaster I have 3D Printed some replacement globes for my outside yard lights.
They were 3D Printed in Clear PLA, now they are 3years old an look like they were just 3D Printed.

I really want to try the PETG though at this time have not purchased any!

Fair enough,

Sounds like good projects. I'm hopefully getting this Ultimate 2 printer from Monoprice and 10 kg's of PETG at which point, the gloves are coming off.

I printed a Peg out of PETG and it survived the temperature just fine.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make it snap on without breaking the snap on mounts.
