Creality Ender 3 Cura miscommunication

Post by ottawahome »

Hi,

Lately my Creality Ender 3 does not seem to get the information about the nozzle temperature when I started printing. Its always 0.
The bed temperature is correctly set.
I can still print but every print I need to set the nozzle temperature manually.
It is set correctly to 260 in Materials and I can see it on the screen in Cura before printing.

Used to work without problems in the past. I even tried some of the default materials and i's the same issue.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Adrian

Sounds like the thermal sensor is broken. You should be able to replace it. I've had to replace several on my printers in the past. They are very delicate glass beads.

Sorry, I think I was not clear enough.
I can manually set the temperature and the display show it and it works perfectly.
The problem is that when I load any new files the nozzle set temperature shows zero.

It's like the file does not transfer the temperature setting to the machine for the nozzle. It does it fine for the bed.

Thank you

Oh, that may be a different issue. Check that you are setting up the correct extruder in Cura (or whatever you are using). Also check that the temperature setting is correct for your print. You can check the gcode file that is sent to the printer, just look for 'M109 S###' (where ### is the temperature setting for your print). The gcode file is plain text, so even Windows Notepad can look at it (just don't save from Notepad).
