Replicape board

Post by ivan.akapulko »

Today found this beauty: http://www.thing-printer.com/product/replicape/
Yummy cost, 5 stepper motors on TMC2100, able to connect 840*480 touch-display, with 1 GHz/Eth/Ubuntu-Debian on BeagleBoard.

Redeem is the Replicape Daemon that accepts G-codes and turns them into coordinates on your 3D-printer. It's similar to Marlin and Teacup, only it's taylor made for Replicape and it's written in Python.
Software features:
- Accelleration with corner speed prediction.
- Printer settings loaded from file
- Controllable via ethernet, USB, Manga Screen (Toggle on 4.3" LCD).
LePaul, fans on 12V :-D
What do you think, folks? Anyone test it already?

I almost buy it when kickstarter begun but since I have zero idea how to change the pt100 of the umo+ bed I'm waiting for the expansion board for it that in theory will have 2 pt100. I also have read the comments from users and it seems to work very nicely. 1/32 steps and plenty of room for extra servos. Looks so nice.

TMC2100 stepper drivers is a HUGE upgrade compared to any other electronics platform that can only use the usual pololu drivers.
I wonder how they implemented the rest of the features, like temperature sensors, power switching, and power design in general. Usually, pretty much all reprap electronics are a huge fail in these departments...

Yep, with these drivers we able to control filament speed/jamming cases without any other hardware additions. And they silent!
