Printing Nylon

Post by Mr SNG »

Just wondered if any Hictop owners have set their printers up to print nylon.

If so what parts if any were required to be fitted to the printer?

Regards

The Hot-end supplied for Hictop 3D Printers with PTFE / Teflon throat coating has a temperature limit.
Though some filament brands allow printing at temperatures as low as 220 ºC due to their chemical composition. this would allow 3D Printing.

I have 3D Printed ABS at 232C though it breaks down over time, to 3D Print with Nylon you may need an all metal throat.
The absence of PTFE (or Teflon) allows the extrusion of filaments at high temperature at + 260 ° C.

Bed temperature Nylon CoPA (PolyMide™ CoPA) lower bed temperatures are better.

Note: Have never 3D Printed Nylon this is how I would start.
