New large print with CR-10 S5

Post by Mbur1 »

Hello,
I am going to try a large print on a CR-10 S5. Basically the model is a shoe box 8” tall with some ribs and towers in the middle. I am using Cura to slice the file but have a few questions about infil and Z pick ups. Is it better to use Z hops or not? What is a sand infil amount? Also any other advice or tips would be appreciated this will be a long print and want to try to get it right.

Thank you.

I'll have to check this out
Generally, I use zhop of 1mm
For whatever reason, the Ultimaker has always liked to rub the previously layer....not sure why!

There are so many things to printing a good model it is hard to list them.

I use the internet and search for certain ways to improve the models, though this is a good time to post this help tutorial.
