Change Filament Option

Post by Mbur1 »

Hello,
Is there a firmware update for the CR-10 S5 controller. I needed to change my filament during a print and when I followed the steps to go to Tune then to change filament the option was not in the list? I finally cut the line to let it run out of the filament sensor. This did work and I was able to change the spool. Also has anyone recovered from a power loss?

Thank you.

I don't rely on the firmware for filament changes. I add it during slicing in Cura. It takes a little work, as you need to know what layer to pause at, but it is very doable. The top on this dice tower worked perfectly for this. I have printed 5-6 of them in the last year for friends. The top filament comes from a sample pack, so I don't have to remove an entire spool. Each sample should have enough for 5 lids (and I have 30 samples).
