Making threads on a Resin printer

Form 2, Form 3 , Elegoo Mars, ANYBUBIC Photon and much more....with the prices coming down, many 3D printers employing this technology are available to the masses!

Making threads on a Resin printer

Post by Lez0 »

Hi all
I've been printing various parts that had threads in them, some odd sizes.
The last on was Ø20.5 x 1.0 pitch for a connector.
They can be a bit tricky.
I'd like to share my experience with you, I hope it helps.
First off for threads it's best to print them vertically, I know Resin printers don't always like this, but it gives the best results. Don't forget to put drain holes in the base if you don't need supports.
If you have to go at any angle try to keep as vertical as possible and don't put supports on the thread if you can help it.
You need to make he threads a little bigger, here are my ideas:

If anybody else can help on this I'd like to hear from them.
