Re: Zebras begone!
UM steppers (umo+, um2, um3) have a decay issue that makes that error (better explained on the forum link). This TL-Smooth fix it for just 8€.
Ofc this tl-Smooth is a china creation from a guy post without his consent, but on the good side they work and they are cheap.
Anyhow this requires more time test (to be safe) but I think this just works.

That's a pretty fascinating problem and solution...a very interesting read from the link (http://www.engineerination.com/2015/02/ ... steps.html) that Labern mentioned

Re: Zebras begone!
Indeed I found the chips, labern dig deepeyand found that all the aliexpress seller key i fo comes from that guy development.
One could blame the china seller, but also the guy that found it never did anything with it. And for 8€ is a nice improvement for the umo/um2/um3 stepper chips

Re: Zebras begone!
Hm, next week they are on sale on aliexpress, €6.51 for a set of 3. Might even order them, though I hardly print, and never noticed the problem what so ever. I'll check my old prints though.
@Neotko, you mentioned silent, that is a different solution path right? When I was printing again after a year the sound drove me nuts.

Indeed the 'silent' drivers it's other solution, for that you could move to a Duet3D board, or if you don't use PT100 maybe even a cheap Lerdge china, but so far this china nonopensource is quite basic, but ofc, it prints.
