Re: FT-5 Wiring tips
On the subject of wiring, I had a problem with the motor for the hotend. It turned out the cable had a slight break in it so it would work OK for some of the time.
After I realised the problem I ordered a new cable, I could only get it from China as it's 1.5 metres long. After installing the new cable the motor still didn't work, it just made a noise. When I checked the new cable with the old one the wiring was different. The correct wiring is 4 cables with the centre 2 cross over. The Chinese was 4 straight connections. All of the cables to the motors on the FT5 are the same. I don't know if it's the same for all printers.
Just thought I would let you in case you need to replace the cables.
