Yep your correct. Great eyes you have. Nozel was jammed with plastic I think the Teflon tube was installed upside down.
I have a new heater but it wont heat. Had to wire up to my connector. Are the extruder heater or temp sensor polarized. + or - I see no markings?

No!

The Heater is a simple 40 watt wire wound power resistor load/heater.
The Thermister is a simple resistor whose resistance is reduced by heating.

Success. Finally after 3 new stepper motors and 2 new heaters a "good" part!

Spoke too soon. on my third part another heater died. It has 24V going to it, just cold. Is this normal?

Are you buying 24V rated heaters? That could explain why you are burning through so many.

Measure the resistance of one of the heaters.

12volt heater
40wt / 12v = 3.333amps : 12v / 3.33amps = 3.6ohms

24volt heater
40wt / 24v = 1.667amps : 24v / 1.667amps = 14.4ohms

A 12 volt heater will have about 3.6 ohms
A 24 volt heater will have about 14.4 ohms

Resistances will vary with manufactures as I have seen many 40 watts heaters delivering only 38 watts.
The reason is some manufactures trying to save money use a standard 15 ohm heater which will deliver only 38.4 watts.

I have purchased many 12V heaters and received 24 volt heaters and vice versa, it could be merely sellers sending wrong parts.
I now check every part I purchase and label them, as to nozzle heaters the actual resistance is written then they at placed in stock.
The resistances I have logged suggests the Heaters I have purchased are made with Resistors in the 5% Tolerance range.

This is curious to me. Is there a file for a part to replace these? What are some of the symptoms of this condition?

Even after bearing change and anti-backlash nuts installed, I am getting very fine variations is the layers. Almost like I am using Curas Fuzzy Skin on a VERY low setting. I will try and take a picture of the result of my latest calibration cube printed in ABS.

When the Smooth rods wobble you will have Z striping on all sides of the Model less top and bottom

I guess my surface finish isn't really so bad then. I'm not really having a lot of luck printing in ABS. Part of my problem is I have fixated on creating a particular model in ABS and it's kicking my hot end all over the place. I have printed only that cube besides trying to print the Gayer Anderson Cat. I got a full copy of it at 65% and 3 attempts at 110% have failed WAY too far in to printing. I got discouraged and quit printing for a couple of days.

Today, I have some ABS juice I made and I slapped on my pure glass bed. I am going to give another model a try today, and try to shake off the frustration.

I discovered a setting in Cura called "Draft Shield" Whoa! pretty clever.

It would appear that we are, did not take time to note this at the time of my Post.

Though it does print quite well, you can see even with all my 3D Printing that this model was attempting to warp from the bed.
I was not using any ABS juice and choice to print on This cheap 3D Printer Bed Surface.

3 PCS HICTOP 3D Printer Build Surface Build Sheets Heated Bed Cover Black
p.s.s Not promoting this product Just saying it worked for my 3D Printers environment.

Whoever said cheap is no-good is incorrectly stating that expensive is good. I had an Expensive Bed Surface and could not get anything to stick...

The link to the video is bad, but I am going to try and print these today out of ABS with ABS slurry on glass. Wish me luck. This forum needs an infusion of people! :D

They are simple to install.
They have a tapered hole that allow you to loosen the two outside Z-Axis stepper screws place the mount and reapply the screws.
This will hold the Smooth rod with a lot better support. Seen in the attached photo

Hic Top Z-Axis Smooth Rod Support2.jpg

It Does, and I have and ideal to how to get this transfusion.

You will also see I have replaced the Z-Stepper motors with these rididBot Steppers, the originals still function.
I only wanted some spares and never put the originals back on...

Looks Like I also Need to start Cleaning my 3D Printer seem to be collecting a lot of dust.
Should have mentioned too that I had to 3D Print the Z-Axis Smooth rod supports twice. Why because the first time they were wobbly.

Wobbly " Z-Axis was wondering all over the place " The 2nd print had the Z-Axis support to maintain the smooth rods and print a descent model.
