I wish I could start posting pictures of printed stuff and discuss technical details, but it will have to wait one more week

Bugger looks like dual material printing, where's a TARDIS when you need one!
Let's hope there is a UM2 dual print upgrade in the pipeline

I would not count on a UM2 dual extrusion upgrade, that was already cancelled once stating that it needed too much changes to be possible, that has probably not changed since... Also the UM2+ does not have the holes in the back panel required to mount a second feeder.
The new Ultimaker tough... it will probably be able to do some pretty amazing things

Cool! It's been quite a while since the UM2 came out, so I wonder what cool features the new one will have

zoom in...
https://ultimaker.com/src/image/teaser/111016.jpg
the part that rests on the ground is bent...
the surface quality seems suffering some kind of vibration....
the internal side is not visible and ... it looks pretty good, if you look at it for 1 second... but it's not so impressive as some would have you believe

It actually surprised me that they selected to show something printed in black glossy plastic.
In my experience, that is the most difficult color for printing things that looks nice on picture.
The light reflected by the glossy surface gets very visible against the black base, which will highlight every defect.

This example is much better

That surprised me as well. I think the other example (the two color drill) is a way better print to show off.Anders Olsson wrote:It actually surprised me that they selected to show something printed in black glossy plastic.

I have some Matterhacker Pro series PLA that is glossy black...and it is impossible to photograph, it looks "melted" or too shiny. Yet, it was a great print!

Re: Teaser for the New Ultimaker....here we go!
Back for a minute following this news.
But yeah, looking at the shape it looks like some kind of solvable 2nd material. Single or dual nozzle is to be seen. My guess is the bed wasn't on, or the other solvable material messes up bed adhesion quality. The drill is sweet though, not sure if it is one piece however.

Found these teaser picture on a local website. Looks like a left side of a printhead, imo.
