Oh btw it's quite different to burn a printed stuff than the filament. Must be because the heat/cold down process. If I light the filament the flame stays on quite some time, but it moves very slow.

Well I have a spool sitting in the box...hadn't thought to light it like a fuse (will it go BOOM?)

Lol no XD!!!
Check this it's what I mean
The area that was exposed to aluminium heater block goes glossy and compress on itself (this had kapton tape before takig the shoot). The good think it's that remains flat (not like pla that curves up).

Maybe this helps you, took me quite a lot of time to write all, photos, soldering, etc etc etc.
Enjoy!

Good read....couple questions...
Which fans? Make? Model? Yours has two wires...mine has a mess of wires
Any reason for CarbonFil over ColorFabb's Carbon Fiber filament? Or just what you had?

Used Carbon because it works

and it doesn't curve but compress on itself.
The model fans are on the youmagine text and photos. They are empast 414H 24V
On youmagine there are also fancaps for 30, 40 and 50mm fans. Also with the basic structure you could design any other fancap with just changing the fancap part.

Remember that I tested that on 3 umo+ I don't know how will they work on a 1.5.7 board.
The good stuff it's that they move a lot of air and only use 65mA so x2 it's just 130mA, nothing that should cause trouble.
I even used x4 of this fans at the same time for 3 months, but because I forgot to kickstart them on a job I burned the transistor, ofc that was with x4 fans at the same time 260mA. But with x2 I been using them non stop and they work awesome. They do more noise wat high speeds (because they actually move more air) but at the lowest speed (40%) they don't make noise at all. By noise I mean just air moving, not shaking or weird stuff. Ofc they ain't cheap, I had to spend a lot of cash to get 8 fans

Cost isn't something I fret about if the item is of excellent quality, such as those fans.
I learned my lesson years ago about buying cheap stuff from Asia. I just don't do it anymore. Some people like that additional hassle or have good luck. My spare time is precious to me, so I hate wasting it
That tutorial looks good. I haven't had a chance to touch my printer for over a month. R2-D2 and CNC projects have eaten up my free time lately!

@Neotko, I haven't actually installed the double fanshroud(no kapton tape

) but using the ruby (smaller) nozzle might actually work with the hole diameter

I wish I could have some actual time to fix the 2-3 main issue of the fan cap. Specially lossing the 50x50 files doesn't help. But maybe the 50x50 design needs a different grip system since they offer way too much weight hanging for my design to compensate properly. Also since nce I don't have x2 50x50 fans of the same size also doesn't help
At least the 40x40 design works quite nice. It has been going and going for more than a month now but also since I didn't left the extra 0.3-0.5 margin it has one fan very slightly tilted, but even so the cap doesn't touch the bed clips.
If you use the tilted fancap with the small nozzle it will hit the bed clips
I need a time machine to actually create time :S

You lost the files for my 50mm fans?

Indeed I did a bad export because I was so busy helping at home and with my shop and I did export one part over the original file... Anyhow it's quite easy to redo, but also today did some pla print test and for umo, not umo+, the x4 nuts it's a must to keep it straight, just passing the long screws doesn't work. Also it would need a spacer on the x4 long screws so they go in partially on the aluminium peek holder, or a bigger spacer so they are just like umo+ long and the user can use x4 m3 10mm screws to push the bottomleft/right.
