I have almost finished the first working design to use the directdrive 45€ euro (only drive no motor). My idea it's to use it as it's. I want a dual grip on the filament no more power since I want precision not just force. Ofc I also got 1 full bondtech with the motor, that one I will use it to test gudo coupler.

I'm interested in Neotko's Bontech with Roberts feeder, that along with The new Match race heater and nozzles I think may be better than the '+'

Where did you visit, Blizz? Enjoy your time on my continent

LePaul: Everywhere!
No just kidding...
The east coast this time. Started of in Washington DC, then trained to Baltimore. From there we took a cruise ship to the Bahama's for a week. That one port'ed in Cape Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center yay!), Freeport and Nassau.
When we arrived back in Baltimore we picked up our rental car and then went to New York for a couple days, then Philadelphia, New Haven, Springfield, Cooperstown, Syracuse and the Niagara Falls.
Then we made our way back to Washington and stopped in Corning, Hershey (Chocolate World and the Gardens) and then Gettysburg for the National Military Park Museum. So quite the trip (1100 miles excluding the cruise) but only a fraction of what we did on the previous trip 3 years ago (west coast... 13 national parks for a total just shy of 6000 driven miles in a month. Started out in SF, went to Yosemite inland and then made our way to San Diego, to return to SF via the coast)

That's an amazing trip (and some very humid weather down there!)
I could spend weeks at Kennedy Space Center...it's too bad there weren't any SpaceX or other launches going on when you were there

Printing a lot, suddenly this happens :O? Whut?

The walls are not touching?
This is 100% infill though, probably shrunk more causing it or something.

Wow, a whole lot of underextrusion going on there.
Which nozzle? Ruby? Standard?
Temps?
How's the extruder feed knob-thing look?
Is that Dutch Orange? (PLA/PHA from Colorfabb)

Short belts tension, feeder knurled bolt dirty, coupler. Check in that order

How many hours should a UMO coupler last? Is underextrustion the biggest symptom it has gone bad?

On a umo I think around 150-200h at pla temps. TFM should go 500-600 at pla? My first coupler died around 400-500h (with i2k) but because I don't use a geared feeder and I don't like to overuse them because I see micro imperfections on the prints when they are on their last days.

You can easily see if its a coupler issue by just extruding at a slow steady speed. If the coupler is fine the plastic should deposit on the buildplate in a cilinder shape (or at the very least keep making nice round figures). If that is not the case the coupler is most likely shot.

So I am looking forward to seeing how they get along and play soon

Hey all,
I just wanted to introduce myself and this seemed like the place to do so. I am 26 years old, live in the Netherlands and I study applied physics. My interests include science, teaching, playing games (mostly card/board games these days), and I like to make stuff. I'm still quite new to the world of 3D printing, I only got my printer for a few weeks now and I'm really loving it; it's a second-hand UM2 with the Olsson block. In the future I definitely intend to upgrade my printer further, but for now I'm still getting to know it. I have already ordered a better feeder system though (Flex3Drive), which should hopefully arrive in a few weeks.
There are a lot of very cool topics on this forum and hopefully I'll be able to contribute something myself as well at some point

Looks like we are the 'Hotel California' for cats... They come to us and never leave.
At some point in time we had 7 -- Our own 'official' one and 6 guests.
Now we still have 3, which is more than enough
