Oh how I hate these screw terminals :D
That is a good example of poor component design...
Of course you are doing it wrong, but the fact that it can be done wrong like this... Well. I only use terminal blocks that don't suffer from that flaw :P

To be honest I'm kinda surprised it worked this long.

After some brain surgery to the UM2Go, my direct drive is now installed there instead and working fine :-)

A big thank you to tinkergnome for compiling a dual version of his firmware for the UM2Go!
I did not realize until I was about to install the hardware that there was no such firmware for the UM2Go..

Those little Go's fascinate me. The kind of printer I'd love to have at the office or something

So you have that Go all upgraded with everything...minus the heated bed?

There is hopefully a heated bed kit waiting in my mailbox when I get back home :-)
I was hoping it would arrive before I went abroad, but that did not happen.

Unfortunately I just realized brought two spools of 1.75 mm ABS and no spools of PLA.
So when those sample packs of PLA I am using right now are finished I will have to try ninjaflex on a cold bed and come up with something interesting to print if it works..

The UM2Go is a really neat little thing by the way, I would say it is rather underrated and overlooked.

Cool. Does it have dual extrusion now or did you just leave the old tube in place?

I kept the original setup as it was and just added the 1.75-block in the second position.
That way I can use both 1.75 and 2.85 mm filament and I can do things like printing spare parts for the direct feeder without having to rebuild the printer each time :-)

So in theory it has dual extrusion, but I don't intend to use it that way (yet)

So you did with the GO what I did with my UM2. Nice.

Passed with 96%

Little disappointed in how the course does quizzes. Lot's of videos and some good, basic information. But they quizzes seem to go after brief comments instead of the theme of the lesson. It's nitpicky and a little annoying.

I can only congratulate on the successful completion of the course! But, Paul, judging by the rapid googling, I "tip my hat" after the news of treatment at EMMC. This is incredibly cool!

And yes, the amount of personal information available in the public domain in America, still leads me into shock. All of these "white pages" over internet is a very terrible thing, I think.

Well it's funny...people that search me see many stories on R2-D2...not so much on me :)

The algorithms of Google sometimes working very strangely. The first two pages were 99% full of personal data on people (phone numbers, addresses, neighbors ' names, tax records and other similar), and only one reference from Bangor time was about R2-D2.

Happy Weekend, friends!

What's everyone been up to?

Among the long list of chores today is cleaning up R2-D2 and making sure all the electronics have stayed put inside. R2 has no suspension so everything inside gets jolted and bounced around pretty good. That's how I got into 3D printing...being able to print custom Arduino UNO mounts inside the frame to better survive those events!

I have a pediatric grand opening this Friday so today was a good time to do those things.

My 5-month old kitten, Miss Molly, had her first change to experience R2-D2 rolling around the house and wasn't terribly scared. She was very interested in everything that was going on...
