She was trying to be helpful on the Ultimaker site...

That reminds me of my new password generator
She was very excited, drooling all over the computer, luckily it did not get into the keyboard before I found out

Capital and lower case letters, numbers, symbols, and plenty of characters. You taught your kid well!

Sander told me he visits the forum but hasn't signed up or post, since he prefers Ultimaker support questions go to their site.
I kind of see his point, if he answered a question here, that person might not go to the official site.
But clearly, as we have all seen, having another place to talk about Ultimakers is good, especially those that prefer to post here instead of there.
I know I learn so much from you guys!

I think that most of us don't post support questions, but talk about pretty advanced topics here (and those tend to be more generalised towards any kind of FDM printing).

Yes, exactly!
As I explained to him over beers, we may not have the thousands of members other sites do....but we have about 20 very active users that make for some great conversations

Kinda what I started to dislike on UM forums: too much post to browse/filter them all. Here it's doable, although I completely ignore the other printer thingies.

I still struggle with how slow it is to click around their forums, read various threads and such. Every click goes to some "mandrill" thing first, then re-directs, then load load load... Any other forum, like this one or the others I read, swiftly move right along

Although I still miss the old UM-forum because it had such a remarkably wide and deep range knowledge among it's users, this forum is really quite impressive already
I do check the current UM-forum from time to time but it's just so damn slow and inconvenient to use compared any other forum that I am lazy to post there. Somehow it feels to me like the minimum requirement would be that it works as good as the old forum, or I don't see any reason to bother.
In many ways it is also valuable for me to have an independent place to discuss things.
Working at the University I have to stay unbiased, follow procurement rules and use the most suitable technique to achieve out goals, and then it certainly looks better not only to be represented at one company owned forum.
Also, I do prefer to keep some of my 3D-printing related projects secret in the beginning, and then it is better to have other ways of finding and communicating with people than through the Ultimaker platform.

Well I try...the moderators do an exceptional job of catching spam posts and other things.
I also try to run changes I am pondering by the group. I value your feedback. We have a nice forum and an excellent group of people.

Sander if you are reading this too again it's not personal.
Pfft, are you guys following the discussion on the um forum search? I really can't stand to see um tell themselves and believing it the search engine is working OK but could be improved. It just isn't working in my opinion.
