Sure pm sent. But I buy them there because otherwise it's impossible to get 1.75mm couplers (until 3dsolex starts to make them).

Neo
Using your setting suggestions...first few layers look really good so far on this fan shroud

Yes, I've been postponing the replacement of mine in the hope to get something better, but it is way overdue now...

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
So I asked ColorFabb about the results of some prints. I sent them the GCODE and here's his ideas...I thought I would share with others in case they opt to try too...
First, let's make the parts a bit more beautiful:
- There's quite a bit of Oozing on your print. This is the liquid material that sits in your hot end after an retraction and extrudes slowly during travel moves. We need do change the retraction settings to challenge those. Try a retraction speed of 40mm/s and a distance of 4.5mm. If that won't work, go for 5mm retraction distance.
- What you can also do about that is to increase the travel speed. Go for 250mm/s, so there's less time for the plastic to come out.
- I also see some blobbing on the print which is caused by over-extrusion. Go for 3% less flow, so there will be less of those small plastic bubbles on the surface of the print.
- I see some holes in the part, one is where a mount broke off, but also in the middle of the part. Go for 100% infill to prevent those. This will also make the thing a lot stronger.
If you have designed this part, always add a chamfer or a fillet around such mounts. This increases toughness and durability a lot.
Please let me know if that fixes your issues or not.
thanks,
Stephan

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
Indeed increasing retract will work, also increases the chances of breaking the filament. And 5mm distance sure will work, but also increases the chances of a clog. It's worth the try but don't be angry if clogs or breaks.
I still really really think that your coupler it's dead. Umo feeder can make it work in exchange of print quality. Users think that a coupler it's dead when underextrude bit before that the quality suffers.

The teflon you suspect is bad?

Could be. Your nGen prints are not what they should be either...

That is usually a dead giveaway for a worn out teflon piece...LePaul wrote:Yeah....my printer kinda sucks lately lol

With the teflon replaced and the new pulley...I think it's time to give this stuff a go again And since it doesnt require fans...I might score a good print!

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
I gave this stuff another try using the shroud side piece as a test piece (as I did nGen)
The new settings from ColorFabb helped some...I don't know if it's the ruby nozzle or not but filament quickly curls up and blobs on the nozzle. Or maybe that's the filament.
I did find keeping the retractions similar to PLA worked well.
The mounting holes came out a little better than before. Printing slower helped.
Getting the filament to start for the print, even at 255, seemed problematic and required a lot of hand cranking the extruder
Once I had the test prints, I tested them with PLA prints of the same model. The tabs were the mounting holes are snapped off easily on the CF while not so with PLA. Horizontally flexing the CF warped a lot easier than PLA
So....definitely not the filament of choice for this project.

I came back to this filament over the past few days!
Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
Hello,
Is there anybody could help me? I have problem with printing this material with creality cr-10s. I want to print 16 layers each 0.2 mm but after printing 10 layers it is going to be clogged above the nozzle. Actually it is still hot and by pressing I can easily remove the material inside. What could be the problems? I have a crazy question. I loosened the filament around the spool since I think that when it is tightened it is hard for the machine to pull it! It might be crazy, I don't know actually. When I turned back in the morning I see that it is tightened and clogged. (I changed the knurled wheel since I thought that it was worn out).
Would you please help me?
