Looking for help from experienced 3D printing guys

Hi all, hope this is posted in the correct place. I’m looking for somewhere where you guys would know I can change the attached picture into a 3D model. My father is rebuilding a motorcycle and cannot buy these pieces anywhere. I bought a 3D printer to see if I could build them for him. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello! Welcome to the forum!

The part in the JPEG Picture looks like a rendering out of some CAD software. So the easiest way would be to track down the source of the rendering. If that is not possible, I guess you need to start measuring the part and recreate it in a CAD software like Fusion 360. The part looks not overly complicated based on this one view on it.

Thank you for the response, I’ll take a look at fusion 360 videos on YouTube and see if I can self teach lol.

It is fairly easy to learn. I can recommend the Fusion 360 videos from Tyler Beck from Tech & Espresso, the Beginner Webinars and the Tech Thursday videos from Brad Tallis on the Autodesk Fusion 360 channel. That's the ones where I learned how to model for 3D printing with Fusion.

For all forum members that do not know Fusion 360 free for personal use, posting this again may help some.

Hi Chasleybizzle
Just a bit of general advice on 3D printing. Remember 3D printed parts aren't as strong as the original injection moulded parts.
You may need to strengthen the part to be printed with extra ribs material etc.
Luckily if the first printed part breaks you can alter the 3D model and print it again.
Good luck

To add to @Lez0 comment: If you need more stability, you can also just use the 3D prints to perfect your CAD model and once it fits, have it manufactured from aluminium or steel on a CNC from your CAD model.

Yes, please understand that additive manufacturing/3D printing can do some wonderful prototyping but for essential structural parts, choose the proper material. I recently had someone approach me about an "critical engine mount part" he wanted to have printed. That's enormous liability, even if the part I produced met spec.

For strong parts I would recommend SIRAYA Blu resin. I have had some very good results using this resin.
