Seeking some advice

Hi,
I am trying to drive a bipolar stepper motor ( https://www.oyostepper.com/category-13- ... Motor.html ) using BOOST-DRV8711 and MSP-EXP430G2ET. I followed all the steps in the user guide. When I connect the power supply to the BOOST-DRV8711, the "FAULT" light comes on as soon as the voltage exceeds 4V, even though the power supply limits the current to less than 0.1A. Is this normal?
Also, when I connect the board to the computer and open the GUI, no errors are reported. I thought the GUI and the board were connected correctly. But the GUI cannot read the firmware version of the board. When I click the "Start/Stop" button, nothing happens. It stays red.
Do you know how to fix these problems and make the driver work properly?
