Forum Update

Hello friends.

As you know, I devote a lot of time and energy into fending off the daily bot attacks, updating the software and the hosting fees for this forum.

Given that it is largely not used at all over the past few weeks, I am leaning towards closing this down on January 1st, 2026.

Forums struggle to compete with social media platforms, like Facebook, Reddit and other discussion groups.

Heck, I'm active on all of those places too!

But I stop in here daily, see no new posts and go through the daily maintenance of deleting fake new users, purging bots and that sort of thing.

This isn't a firm deadline.

I'm just saying here's my "Use it or loose it" pitch. :-D

The forum was created in 2016 when many of us Ultimaker forum users found their platform unusable. Ultimaker hated me for offering another venue for customers to talk about their products and software - they felt only they should have that. So, with many great people I got to know in that forum, we started this one. And it was a very lively area of discussion for many years. Some still visit from time to time, many others have moved on from 3D Printing.

So on one hand, maybe 10 years was a good run and it should end?

As always, I appreciate your thoughts.

I know though still sorry to see you leave been posting here for years
Lots of good 3D Printer information to read, an all this information will be lost forever.

Ever though about making a E-Book and selling it.

Yes, I see that on the other sites I visit (Ultimaker, Lulzbot, other manufacturer forums)

The one I can't follow along well are the Discord and GitHub ones.
