Finally had some time to replace the bearings. This is a short video of how bad the stock bearings were
With the new bearings...it's a totally different printer. Not a single glitch on the prints...and the buildplate lowers itself when the print is done

If it is as you say that thumbnails are wrong, but not the original, then it is truly an issue with the forum software...because that thumbnail is generated by the forum

My iPhone uploads images with no issue, the latest pics I uploaded were on from there. Be sure that the thumbnail you see on the iPhone camera roll is aligned right too.

Yes, the vertical is where I have seen issues...where the thumbnail is wrong but the pic displays fine once clicked.

Been having problems with my UMO and UM2 intermitent banding. Lots of investigating, often putting it down to the cross rod gantry bearings. Changed them with cheap chinese bearings, no difference.
More recently a blown UM2 heatbed, and known ever so slightly notchy bearing on UMO Z axis, prompted me to go for some quality LM12's. They arrived today, fitting in next day or so. They came in a box, wax proof paper, id forgotten what a quality bearing package looked like. Very much looking forward to getting these babies fitted, and hopefully saying hello to aligned layers again.
But having gone for new bearings, and doing some searching, I was surpsied to see how many Z axis bearing issues do occur on these machines. Thinking logically about it though, it is not that surprising.
Will update once fitted.

That's disappointing to find out that what's in your expensive printer isn't always high quality parts.

Yes, in a cheap Chinese clone...fine. But not I am original Ultimaker.

Just a quick update on my use of the Japanese LM12 bearings for the Z axis.
Disassembled machine as required to complete the installation, cleaned and lubed the 12mm rods, carefully dropped the new bearings on, they felt a little tight, and almost notchy, but as per usual with a good fitting LM bearing, a bit of back and forth movement soon had them feeling a lot smoother (but still ever so slightly notchy, didnt feel like "ball raced" if you understand me).
Re-assembled and completed a few test prints. All good, no banding evident. Pleased the effort (and expense) paid off.
