If your belts are loosing tension, just unfix one pulley, move the axis about three times in each direction and re-tighten the pulley. Tension should be ok again then. If your belts are worn out that the internal spring cannot compensate anymore they should be replaced.

The modification works fine for me,
these slidings blocks need to be printed precisely with a machine in a good condition and then a well mounting by using the X/Y align tool will ensure proper operation, it's under your own responsability

Those who would like to try feel free to ask more,
the interesting thing I noticed is that with more stretched belts this reduced a lot the ringing, care to not stretch too much !

I would change a bit the printed parts to have 0.10 margin of error, I did use horizontal expansion -0.10 for some parts on some reprints, specially the belt grips.
Will post after setting all up. Btw omg m2.5 screws are really tinnyyyy
If I'm right with some drilling on the box it should be possible to gain 1cm (or close to) in both directions on an umo... That should be... I think.. Ahrgg to much todobedobedo

My evil plan to gain print area failed, but I did win almost 5mm on x/y, not bad XD
Gudo-neotko-beyond slideblocks. For umo adapters
After printing all -0.10 works flawlessly. Edited the step and changed the inner area like talked to gudo so there's less friction translating to the slideblocks when the bushings spin.
Will do prints soon when I get another free hour. Been busy like mad lately.

Yes, M2.5 are very tiny but I would prefer any screwed version to a just snapped one.

MXL, that would need very little extra work, like adding mxl clamps, atm they are gt2, but making mxl should be more than doable.

The change should be very easy, but you would have to 'cut' the belts. I did that, first 3 prints did look superb, very fast print and precise. (Ofc also with ZGE)drayson wrote:Yes, MXL - of course...

Ringing is clearly less, at this speed it should be too much but is hard to notice (but ofc is there). At 70mm/s is almost impossible not to have it with this printers.

Great design ..but just a small observation, there seems to be a slight angle difference in the belts with this tensioning setup, the upper belt are not parallel to the lower belt (i hope you get what I mean, same belt around 2 pulleys)
I know i've seen comments on this before (i cant find the link) but when the belts are not parallel to eachother around a pulley, the distance traveled differs from the distance the step motor is set to do.
a*-----------------------------*b
c*-----------------------------*d
so a travel move between a -> b is shorter than a travel move between c -> b, so step motor is commanded to go to point b from point a, but on a c -> b path, so it will never reach b.
